Sectors where the constraints come first

The technology transfers between these five. The constraints do not — and the constraints are what decide whether a deployment survives its first year.

Why sector knowledge is not interchangeable

A microcontroller reading a sensor and publishing over MQTT is the same code in a substation, a field and a hospital. What differs is everything around it, and that is where projects fail.

An energy reading may be the basis of a bill, which makes calibration and traceability requirements rather than refinements. An agricultural sensor is buried for eight months, so the design problem is sealing and connector corrosion long before it is software. A medical device needs an evidence trail for why each decision was made. A tracker is defined by the assumption that the network is currently unavailable. A building is defined by the equipment already installed in it and what that equipment will let you do.

None of that is visible from a technology stack, which is why these pages are written around the constraints rather than around a list of tools. If your sector is not among the five, the useful question is not whether we have your industry on a page — it is whether we can name your real constraints on the first call. That is a fair test, and we would rather be measured against it than against a logo wall.
